If you’re lucky, you love him. If you’re not lucky, he’s your worst enemy and he’s ruining your sibling’s life. If you’re indifferent, maybe you hardly know him or don’t care to want to know him at all.

The brother in law relationship comes in many different forms. But whether he’s your best friend or a total stranger, there will inevitably come a point in time that you need to give him a gift. So whether he’s a diehard sports fanatic, a wanna-be master chef, or a beer-drinking-football-watching-don’t-bother-me-on-Sundays kind of dude, here are 15 awesome brother in law gifts we know he’ll love.

For the Brother in Law That Thinks He’s A Chef (or is at least trying to become a good home cook)

Does your bro in law aspire to be the next master chef? Is he a self-proclaimed grill master? Does he think he’s good enough to have his own cooking show? Whatever his kitchen status is, these brother-in-law gifts are perfect for the guy who loves to cook.

Grand Grill Daddy Grill Cleaning Brush

If he’s a grill master at heart, he probably already has a set of barbecue tools. But there’s a good chance he does not have this badass steam-cleaning grill brush. This baby scrubs and cleans with air and steam, so he’ll never have to scrape away any of that nasty baked-on grease or food residue again

Slate Platter

Available in different shapes and sizes, this slate platter is a perfectly stylish way to serve up everything from charcuterie to slabs of pork belly to delicate scallops. The rough edges give it a natural and (dare we say) masculine look. Even if he can’t cook for s*#&, with this platter, at least he’ll be able to perfect his plating skills.

Metal Spice Rack

Every good chef has an arsenal of spices at hand, but we love this one for one specific reason: the jars are LABELED. Professional chefs may be able to look at any herb or spice and identify it in one second flat. But for those that are still reading recipes and honing their kitchen skills, a labeled spice rack prevents mixing up the celery salt and garlic powder. This labeled spice rack takes the guessing game out of which spice is which.

For the Brother in Law That Cares About Sports More Than Anything (don’t talk to me, the game is on)

There are guys that like sports or follow a certain team…and then there are guys who watch every single college basketball game or know the RBI stats of every MLB player. Wherever he falls on the spectrum, he’ll appreciate these gifts.

Tickets to a Game

This gift idea needs little explanation. Find out his favorite team, head to that team’s website, and order him two tickets for a game. If you really want to step up your in-law gift-giving skills, get him tickets to one of the first games of the season or, better yet, tickets at the end of the season when his team has a chance of heading to the playoffs.

Callaway Golf Umbrella

If he’s into golf, you can’t go wrong with a Callaway gift. Head to the Callaway website and you’ll find everything from tees and golf balls to clubs, club covers, gloves, and towels. But of all the golf gifts you can buy, our favorite is the golf umbrella. Why? Because he can use it on the course and off the course, and who doesn’t love a year-round gift?

The BroBasket Tailgate Bucket of Beer is made for THAT GUY… a metal bucket with his favorite NFL team’s logo…logo pint glasses and coasters that he can use forever and ever…and, let’s not forget, the star of the show: bottles of his favorite beer!

For the Brother in Law Who Never Met a Bottle Of Beer, Wine, or Spirits He Didn’t Love

Perfect for holding whiskey or Scotch, a decanter is an easy way to class up a home bar – and this decanter set will do exactly that. There are lots of cool decanters out there at all different price points, but we love this one for its cool texture and the fact that it comes with a set of matching old-fashioned glasses.

Coin Guitar Picks

If your brother in law plays guitar there’s one thing he surely never has enough of: picks. Sure, you could always pick up a pack of those cheap plastic ones they sell in every music store. OR you could get him a set of these super cool quarter picks crafted from actual US coins. Technically, it’s a crime to deface, alter, or destroy US coins and currency…but since you’re not the one actually doing the destruction, there’s probably no need to worry about that.

With Alexa by his side, he can play all of his favorite tunes with a super simple voice command. Listening to music has never been easier.

For the Brother in Law Who Quotes Random Movie Lines (including movies that aren’t worth quoting

Maybe he loves Bruce Willis as ‘80s action hero John McClane or as the protagonist (and pugilist) Butch Coolidge in Pulp Fiction. Maybe he prefers a good cry with Ryan Gosling rowing a sad little boat through a river of swans in The Notebook. Or maybe he’s into horror and hauntings like SawFriday the 13th, or that creepy doll Annabelle. As long as your brother in law has a favorite movie, here a few gifts that he will love.

For the movie fanatic who loves to see every film the day it gets released, there’s no better gift than a movie theater gift card. He can go see the new Star Wars (we’re assuming there will be one soon), take his kiddos to the next animated Disney flick, or smarten up watching the next great documentary or foreign film. And if he wants to fatten up on soda and popcorn while he’s there, he can use it for that too.
